Arrayjet has been designing and manufacturing microarray instruments. The unique feature of Arrayjet printers is that they deposit samples using inkjet technology, which is up to 100 times faster than “conventional” dispensing or pin-spotting systems. They also have significantly greater output capacity, printing up to 1000 slides (or 200 microplates) in one batch.
Inkjet microarray printers
Speed
- The inkjet print head can deposit 700 drops per second, printing on-the-fly
- A whole 384-well plate can be printed, in triplicate, onto 100 microarray slides in less than 35 minutes
Contactless printing
- The printable surface is protected from damage caused by contact pins
- Piezoelectric print head does not denature samples or become clogged
Flexibility
- Ideal for printing onto plates, PCR chips, membranes, slides and microfluidic devices
- Printers are modular and fulfill needs from R&D to bulk manufacturing
Precision
- Precision feature size: 90–500 μm
- Accurate spot volume: 40 pL–10 nL
- Low intra- and inter-slide CVs of <5%
- User-defined spacing: increments of 1 µm
Consistency
- Real-time print evaluation and parameter monitoring
- Twin quality control cameras, intuitive software, and automated spot reprint in real-time
- HEPA filtration and environmental control as standard
Arrayjet microarray printers are integrated with the JetSpyder™ - the company’s patented liquid handling device. This device enables the aspiration of biological samples into an industrial-grade inkjet print head, using as little as 0.5 µl sample to print 1000 slides.
The print head crosses the print surface and deposits the sample at a rate of 700 drops per second without any contact.
